Kimberly R asked:
My husband and I and our 2 kids are living with my parents, because we sold our home, and have put an offer in on a home about 6 weeks ago. They still have not assigned a negotiator to it. How can I get this moving faster?
First, you can’t. Countrywide will proceed at its own pace.
Second, your question is confusing. You say “we sold our home.” If the sale is a short sale, then the sale is contingent on the lender’s approval. And you wouldn’t be able to qualify for a new home.
I’m guessing you sold your old home and the home you’ve put an offer on is the short sale property. If that’s the case, you might get an answer soon…or it could be another 4-6 months. And even then, there’s no assurance that your offer will be accepted.
Have your Realtor check with the listing agent regularly. But there’s nothing (beyond making sure the seller submitted a complete short sale package) you can do to speed up the process.
There is not much you can do to get Countrywide moving faster. I hope you are not 100% counting on this being accepted.
They could be looking at multiple short sale offers of which yours is just one. The longer it is the more chance that other offers have been made also.
Sometimes it is best to wait for it to foreclose and buy it then.
Comments on Does anyone know someone at Countrywide who can get my Short Sale through quicker?

Your home is NOT sold. Unless that offer is close, about 90% of the appraised value it is just paper anyway.
You need to wait another 6-8 weeks, in the mean time keep showing and trying to get a better offer. 80% of short sales are declined.
